MILF rebels deserve
terror tag: Olario

BUTUAN CITY -- The bombings and assaults on
towns, police detachments as well as killings of innocent civilians that are
linked to the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) only justify its tag as a
terrorist group.
Caraga Police Regional Office (PRO) director, Chief Supt. Alberto Olario, said
this in response to a statement made by Sultan Gamal Amerol that it's not right
for government to have the MILF declared as a terrorist group.
In relation to this, Amerol said they and most of the Muslim community in
Caraga region voice their support on moves to oppose the inclusion of the MILF
in the list of terrorist groups.
Olario said ordinary criminals wouldn't kill innocent civilians, children and
old people as well as others who don't have anything to do with their hatred
towards the government.
"Unsa man diay ang angay itawag nato sa
MILF," Olario said. (What else do we call the MILF?)
For his part, Col. Rolando Panchito, chief security officer of
Panchito said they got the information from a top MILF leader. "Hinaut nga
tinuod ang ilang gisulti," Panchito said. (We hope that what they said is
true.)
Olario said they are monitoring the city for any sign of rebel movements or
activities.
The Caraga police chief said he believes the Muslim community
in Region 10 are peace-loving citizens and they don't have anything to
do with the outbreak of violence in the area.
